Burns Night celebrations in Newquay

With Burns night fast approaching, its time for towns and cities all around the country to embrace the highlands of Scotland. Despite being on opposite ends of the British Isle, the seaside town of Newquay is doing its bit to celebrate the annual event.

The town's bay Hotel has confirmed it is to hold Burns night celebrations on the 21st January, offering traditional Ceilidh music to accompany a sumptuous Scottish feast and a glass or two of whisky; all in the name of charity. There will also be a charity auction during the evening, with all proceeds being donated to the children's hospice charity.

Tickets for the event will cost £24.95, a price which includes a three course meal, copious amounts of whiskey, bagpipes, a Ceilidh band and entertainment until midnight. The dress code for the event is strictly black tie, with Scottish kilts being accepted also. It offers a fantastic occasion for anybody staying in a nearby Cornwall caravan park during the period, giving the chance to celebrate a traditional Scottish event in true highland style.
