Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber set for Truro performance

British solo cellist Julian Lloyd Webber is coming to Cornwall this spring, as part of a nationwide tour, it has been confirmed.

The classical musician, who has been described as the “doyen of British cellists”, will be performing at the Hall for Cornwall on Thursday March 15, for one of the most anticipated concerts in the county this year.  

Second son of composer William Lloyd Webber and younger brother to musical theatre composer Andrew, he made his professional debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London in 1972 as part of the first performance in the capital of the cello concerto by English composer and conductor Sir Edward Bliss.

His career has gone from strength to strength ever since and is now widely regarded as the most creative musicians of his generation.
