Cornwall to host its first ever international cricket match

Cornwall is set to host an international cricket match for the first time ever this year, after it was confirmed England’s women will take on India in the summer.

The eagerly awaited contest will take place on 8 July at Truro and is the fourth match of a five game series between the two sides.

It will be a major highlight of the Cornish Cricket Festival, which has returned after a 9 year break and will entertain crowds for two days, with another match scheduled to pit minor counties side Cornwall against a PCA Masters Eleven (a team made up of former and current international players) on 5 July.

Outside the international standard of cricket, attendees of the festival can expect high quality food and drink, a sporting quiz and even an exclusive interview with a player and former cricketer.

The festival represents a great opportunity to sample one of Britain’s finest creations at its highest level, and can add something extra for the family to enjoy whilst on your caravan holidays.
