Fishermans Friends to entertain the Minack Theatre
Popular a cappella group Fisherman’s Friends, who created a global hullabaloo last year when they signed for Lady Ga Ga’s record label in a £1 million deal, are to perform at the Minack Theatre in Penzance next year.
Consisting of 10 middle-aged men, the unlikely group were raised close to Port Isaac Harbour, with the exception of Yorkshireman John McDonnell, and started performing locally in 1995.
Renowned for their soft, dulcet melodies and approachable demeanour, the band has gone from strength to strength and released their first album with Universal in April 2010.
They will appear at the Minack Theatre on the 23rd and 24th of May. Their huge local appeal is likely to draw in large crowds, so fans are advised to book early.
Should you be in Penzance during May, why not tie in a trip to the theatre with a break at a great Cornwall holiday park, the perfect place to enjoy a mini-vacation.
