Lostwithiel Dickensian Evening

The annual Lostwithiel Dickensian evening is almost upon us, offering a fantastic attraction for all the family to enjoy while on their Cornwall holidays. The mini festival attracts huge crowds and is a hugely popular event in the area.

The Dickensian evening is held on the 15th December and begins at 6pm, with an evening brimming with festive food, live music and plenty of good will.

It’s a fun event for the people of Lostwithiel, with everybody given the excuse to dress in Victorian clothing as they congregate within the streets laden with Christmas trees and flashing lights. It’s designed to celebrate the legendary author Charles Dickens, aimed to portray the type of celebrations seen during his famous novels. During the festive period, businesses and homes in the town paint their windows with numbers to create an idyllic Advent Calendar.

Various activities and attractions are organised for the event, with everyone from the town band playing Christmas carols to the lantern parade that sweeps through the towns streets.
