Owl sanctuary needs public support
An owl sanctuary in Cornwall is asking the public to help raise funds so they can meet veterinary bills and continue the work it does with sick and injured birds, it has been revealed.
The popular tourist attraction Screech, in Goss Moor, offers families a great day out, but it has been struggling to meet the demand of costs attributed to saving the animals, with prices reaching £1,000.
The owners, aptly named Tom and Carolyn Screech, are desperate to keep the rehabilitation programme established in 1990 above water. They said the attraction was ‘self-financing’ and depended ‘heavily on the public to keep it going’.
Particularly appealing to children, the site also boasts animals such as goats and Miniature Shetland Ponies whilst offering guided tours, children’s parties and extensive petting time.
A trip to the sanctuary can form part of the ideal family holiday, and is less than an hour drive from our popular Cornwall holiday park in Looe.
