Pendennis Cup set to return to Falmouth

Superyachts have been entered into one of Britain’s leading sea race events next year, as the Pendennis Cup returns to Cornwall.

The race, organised by the Pendennis shipyard every two years, will take place in Falmouth from the 2nd to the 7th July and will include a full entertainments programme, complementing the four days of competitive racing.

Some of the yachts listed for the event so far include Athos, a 62 metre challenger, last years winner Adela and one of the oldest participants Mariquita, who was built in 1911.

Moored at Port Pendennis Marina throughout the week, they can be viewed from the towns main Event Square or the viewing gallery.

Falmouth has long attracted tourists and is a popular destination for caravan holidays. Why not tie in a vacation to Falmouth with the competition and watch sailors tackle the Cornish coast whilst taking in the breath-taking scenery surrounding the seaside town?
