Pendennis Cup to return to Cornwall in 2012
Super yacht racing competition, the Pendennis Cup will return to Falmouth Bay in Cornwall once again in 2012.
The event will be held from July 7th and will see a number of super yachts take part in four days of exciting racing including the previous winner, the 55.5 metre Adela.
Daily battles will occur in the local waters, with the nearby coastline providing a picturesque backdrop for the competing crews as they push hard to be crowned winners.
Those taking part in the competition are said to enjoy the challenge that British waters provide, compared to the tame conditions they often encounter in the Mediterranean.
If you are exploring South Cornwall on your Caravan holidays next year, keep your eye out to the seas in case you spot this exciting competition taking place.
The public can view the magnificent boats as they are moored during the week at Port Pendennis Marina. They are also viewable from the viewing gallery at the National Maritime Museum.
