Record bird migration for Cornwall

Bird migration in Cornwall has been at its best since the 1960’s this year, according to experts, delighting bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.

Mixtures of warm weather, wind direction and hurricanes have contributed to the increase, which also produced a great autumn for rare birds.

Some of the birds spotted off the Cornish coast include the desert wheatear from central Asia and dusky warblers from south-east Asia as well as birds from the United States.

These sightings will have been welcomed by the Cornish tourism industry and undoubtedly attract more walkers and holiday makers, who come their droves to the unique British county hoping to catch a glimpse of rare species, on land or in sea.

A popular holiday destination for families seeking an affordable, beautiful alternative to the foreign break, Cornwall plays host to some stunning scenery. Why not check it out with a stay at our fantastic Cornwall holiday park?
