Coronavirus, COVID 19, What you need to know

Late last night the government issued further guidance around ‘essential travel’ and made reference to camp sites and caravan parks in particular.

The latest guidance as of 22 March is as follows:

“This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.”

Following the above we have to assume that holiday makers will no longer be travelling and will be forced to amend their plans.

Therefore, our park will be closed to holiday makers until 23 April when we hope to re-launch the season.

We will keep this date under constant review and continue to act on the latest advice from the relevant authorities.

We know how disappointing this will be for all those guests who are booked to stay with us during this time but every decision we make, we are doing so to ensure the safety and security of our guests, owners and team as our number one priority.  We are contacting everyone who has a break booked during this period, but we shall prioritise those who are booked to travel within the next seven days. We would like to thank our guests for their patience whilst we work through this as quickly as we can.

What are my options if my break is affected?

  • We will be offering all holiday makers booked to travel to us during this period the option to exchange their booking for a credit voucher to the value of the holiday plus an additional 20% incentive (up to the value of £150*) or to amend to an alternate date either later this year or 2021.
  • All customers who are booked to stay from Monday 23 and 27 March will be contacted as a matter of priority today.
  • We ask “Seasonal Customers” not to stay in their caravan at this time and to be sensitive towards the views and needs of the local community and NHS.
  • Please note that if you have booked via an agent (eg Hoseasons, The Sun etc) you may have to make arrangements with them.

As we were gearing up for the Easter holidays, we have a significant amount of perishable food on park which will now be donated to local community food banks.

We will continually and closely review the Government’s guidance and hope to welcome people on park from 24 April

The current situation is fast moving and is raising many questions.

Please find some further information you may find useful if you have booked a holiday or about to book a holiday with us.

Tencreek Holiday Park is committed to welcoming guests as normal, however, there will be changes to the availability of some facilities.

  • Holiday Caravan Hire – anyday to anyday – available as normal
  • Touring and Tents – anyday to anyday – available as normal
  • Shop – available as normal
  • Take-away – available as normal – we are currently developing a takeaway delivery service.
  • Launderette – available as normal
  • Play Area – available as normal
  • Multi Sports Pitch – available as normal
  • Access to Coast Path – available as normal
  • Castaways Clubhouse (Entertainment, Arcade and Bar) — closed until 24 April
  • Indoor Pool—closed until 24 April

Given the situation we’re all facing as a result of the Corona Virus please find below some information you may find useful if you have booked a holiday or about to book a holiday with us.

Tencreek Holiday Park will continue to operate as normal unless specifically told to do so by the relevant health authorities.

We fully understand you might not want to travel whilst there is uncertainty.

Under normal circumstances, cancellations or amendments to bookings would be referred to the cancellation section of our terms and conditions.

This may have resulted in  lost money or at least an administration fee.
From 13.3.2020 until further notice, this will not apply and you’ll be able to amend your booking to another date. The amendment fee will also be waived.
Should there be a difference in price you’ll need to pay this – we want to ensure you have more flexibility to amend your travel plans.
This applies to all existing and new bookings.

For customers concerned about our cleaning procedures please be reassured that our cleaners our working especially hard with products which keep the Park thoroughly clean.
