Battle on the border run pits Devon against Cornwall
The rivalry between Devon and Cornwall has been apparent for many years, arguing about everything from the best beaches to which one owns the rights of the traditional pasty. Once a year, representatives lock into a battle to decide which one is the best. I this case, the word battle means a cross country 10 mile run.
The battleground for the race are the ancient trails of historic Mount Edgecumbe, with men, women and children all competing in separate disciplines throughout the day to decide which county comes out on top.
The race will commence on the 29th January 2012. If you feel like you want to test fitness, feel free to register for the event. Alternatively if you don’t fancy running the distance, you can always come along and watch the action for a fun-filled day. It could be the event to visit while staying in one of the many Cornwall holiday parks during the period.
