Cornwall named the nation’s favourite resort
According to a new survey from a top holiday lettings agency, Cornwall has been voted the nation’s favourite resort.
Cornwall came out on top of the list, which also included Scotland, London, Wales and the Lake District. The Lake District came out on top of the nation’s favourite attractions.
The figures from the survey has also revealed that 91% of people asked were planning to holiday in the UK in 2012 which is said to be an increase of 23% from 2011.
The increase in popularity of UK holidays or “staycations” are said to be due to a number of factors including the fear of strike action, the increasing cost of air travel and the affordability that holidays in the UK offer.
With so many wonderful attractions, top holiday parks and quaint seaside towns like Looe it isn’t hard to see why Cornwall holidays are so popular with the British public.
